JRG Diary 15-10-2011
well, I started the day by watching Wales get robbed… fortunately it got better.
I did this work yesterday but didnt get around to writing the diary – took the body blank halves
and jointed them up
laminated a wenge headstock while they dried
had a massive tea break and then thickness sanded the glued body blanks
until they were all a perfect thickness, after years, im still really privileged to work with some of the beautiful timbers that come through here
Bookmatched Wenge tops:
and their bookmatched mahogany backs:
one wenge top gets a black limba back
myrtlewood with swamp ash back
swamp ash body
and an exceptional flamed sapele body
when thats all squared away, I have to get on with making a bridge part for an 8 string fanned fret i want to develop and release soon
it takes 5 or so hours but the result is worth it
especially after I polish it up a little
why am I working on a Saturday ? same reason as ill be working tomorrow
check the diary again then..
